I am currently enrolled in the Master of Future Cities and Interdisciplinary Graduate Diploma in Climate Change Programs at the University of Waterloo. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, a critical enabler for climate action from Sheridan College, a University Certificate in Management Applications from Athabasca University and professional accreditations and certifications in Sustainability, Change Management, and Construction Management. Specifically, I am a LEED AP BD+C, O+M, Fitwel Ambassador, Certified Change Agent and One Click Construction LCA Specialist.
LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a global movement and the world's most widely used green building rating system, with certified projects across 167 countries and territories. It provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings that offer environmental, social, and governance benefits.
Fitwel is the pioneering real estate platform driving health insights into buildings, ESG performance, and bottom-line value. One Click LCA is the premier platform for life-cycle assessment and carbon reduction within the construction sector.
My interdisciplinary background allows me to provide a comprehensive approach to sustainability. By integrating systems and futures thinking, effective change management, financial acumen and strategic foresight methodologies, I aim to guide organizations in aligning solutions with their financial and strategic goals, ensuring long-term sustainability, resilience, and meaningful impact.
I complement my hard skills with soft skills to help organizations achieve higher levels of efficiency and productivity. I approach circumstances with empathy, care, and a high standard of professionalism, understanding that several factors can influence how people adapt to sustainability initiatives.
My multidisciplinary skills have equipped me with the capacity to manage both limited and substantial resources effectively while adhering to internal controls and without constraining expansion efforts.
I am a national member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). Individual members fuel the grassroots initiatives of Canada's green building communities. We leverage membership to develop professional connections within our local network and tap into the many resources available to us through education, networking events and local conferences.
The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is an international organization dedicated to promoting the principles and practice of energy conservation and energy-efficient system design. I am a member of the AEE's GTA chapter.
As a member of the programming committee at the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), the leading international network of sustainability professionals, I join other members to actively drive sustainability in organizations and communities around the globe.
My knowledge and work experience extends across finance and operations, change management, sales and marketing, strategic foresight and traditional and sustainable construction management methods, covering areas such as foundations, design, drawings, specifications, planning, scheduling, estimating, health and safety, and risk management.
At the University of Waterloo, I collaborated with peers to address the pressing issue of heat-challenged cities. This initiative combined strategic foresight methodologies, environmental and horizon scans, and scenario planning to develop actionable strategies for enhancing urban sustainability and resilience.
At IFSE, I collaborated with the Director of Finance & Operations on a traditional office move project that incorporated sustainable practices. We moved to a hybrid work environment within a newly renovated suite in Dream’s LEED Gold, BOMA Best Gold, and WELL Health-Safety-Rated building, which is on track for net zero by 2035. This project created workspaces for staff away from home using sustainable materials, reduced our office space carbon footprint, and resulted in economic savings of $1.8 million in rental charges over the lease term, benefiting the triple bottom line.
I also provided end-to-end change management solutions, facilitating the deployment and onboarding of new technologies, digital adoption and operational efficiency across HR and finance.
Through the Roses Co-Working project (LEED v4 BD+C: NC), with Green Living Projects, I gained experience implementing green building practices, from exploration and planning to design, construction and occupancy, ensuring energy efficiency, water conservation, and using sustainable materials in operations, maintenance, and adaptive reuse. This diverse skill set ensures that I can provide comprehensive solutions to a wide range of challenges.
My background in finance and operations has equipped me with the capacity to manage both limited and substantial financial resources effectively, ensuring successful outcomes. My training and experience in change management is not just theoretical knowledge but a practical and valuable tool for guiding people through transformative change regardless of their available resources; I understand that adopting sustainable practices and breaking habits can be challenging.
My ongoing studies in the Master of Future Cities program and the Interdisciplinary Graduate Diploma in Climate Change provide me with advanced knowledge in sustainable urban planning, systems thinking, foresight methodology, and whole-of-society climate solutions from community to global scales.
