In response to the devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles County in early 2025, resulting in an estimated $250–275 billion in damages and economic losses, our interdisciplinary team at the University of Waterloo conducted a systems-based analysis to examine the built environment’s and community infrastructure’s vulnerability to wildfires.

Strategic Solutions for Heat-Challenged Cities

As part of an interdisciplinary project, I collaborated with peers to address the pressing issue of heat-challenged cities. This initiative combined strategic foresight methodologies, environmental and horizon scans, and scenario planning to develop actionable strategies for enhancing urban sustainability and resilience.
This project enhanced my experience in strategic foresight, urban resilience planning, and collaborative problem-solving. It showcases my ability to navigate complex sustainability challenges and develop innovative, actionable solutions that align with long-term goals for sustainable development.

I worked with a diverse team to explore the systemic nature of urban challenges and the power of collaborative engagement to build a sustainable future. Through comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in leading change in volatile environments, we were equipped with professional skills necessary to lead collaborative teams in urban sustainability initiatives.
As PRC Environment Representative, I help evaluate project proposals and provide informed funding recommendations to support GSEF’s mandate at UWaterloo. As the Lead for the Young Energy Leader Committee, a youth-focused initiative designed to ignite innovation, critical thinking, and sustainability leadership, I empower the next generation to contribute to energy efficiency, carbon neutrality, and long-term sustainability. I also support the board and chapter at AEEGTA in its growth and development to meet the needs of the energy engineering community.
At Emerge, a training ground for future global leaders, I lead a talent expression group, co-create the learning curriculum and work with a team to serve teens by empowering them to pursue purpose, achieve their dreams, and strive for excellence through productive engagement, facilitation, and mentorship.
At the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), the Programming Committee team and I played a crucial role in shaping the ISSP's 2025 programs. We are dedicated to empowering sustainability professionals across the workforce and around the world through innovative and impactful programming.
As Orientation Leader at Sheridan College, I led sessions for new students on orientation day and teamed up with other members of the BBA student council to welcome new business students to the Sheridan community. As Campus Ambassador, I collaborated with a team that represented guard.me International Insurance, an award-winning provider of international student health insurance and its initiatives at Sheridan's HMC campus.
